How VCI Gun Storage Works

VCI stands for Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor. Inside a sealed API bag, VCI molecules move through the enclosed air space around the firearm.

Those molecules settle on exposed metal surfaces and help reduce oxidation before rust starts. This protection can reach visible and hard-to-reach metal areas.

VCI protection works best when the firearm is clean, dry, and sealed inside the correct bag size.

Better Than Basic Gun Storage Bags

Basic soft cases and foam-lined cases can trap moisture against metal surfaces. That can increase rust risk during long storage periods.

API VCI firearm storage solutions are designed to create a protective micro-environment around the firearm. This makes them better suited for serious rust prevention.

Unlike many single-layer VCI poly bags, API bags use multi-layer construction for improved durability and longer storage performance.

How to Use API VCI Gun Bags

  1. Make sure the firearm is unloaded.
  2. Clean and dry the firearm before storage.
  3. Place the firearm into the correct bag size.
  4. Seal the Velcro closure completely.
  5. Store the sealed bag in a stable location.
